Brazil Takes Men’s Bronze

Powered by two first half goals by Diego and Jo, the Brazilian mens soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Belgium in the Olympic soccer tournament bronze medal game today.
Brazil got a third goal in second half stoppage time when Ronaldhino fed Jo with a through pass and Jo muscled through the last defender to nicely slot the ball past the Belgium goalie.
Belgium had some chances but good keeping and unlucky shots left them with a goose egg on the score sheet.
“I think we justified our position in the last four,” Belgium coach Jean Francois De Sart said. “Today we played a good match. We had a lot of chances against Brazil, which is a big team with a lot of players.
“If you were to compare the value of the players of Brazil and Belgium, you have a big difference, but on the field today you didn’t see this big difference.”
“For the fourth time we got a medal for Brazil in the Olympics, and we are very happy about it,” Brazil coach Dunga said.
